Born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, in 1939, Tansetsu Ogino developed his artistic vision through the study of classical Japanese calligraphy. He has established a distinctive style that brings the beauty of traditional calligraphy into a contemporary context.
His works are characterized by their modern sensibility, whether expressed through written characters or abstract forms. Today, he is active across a wide range of disciplines, including calligraphy, contemporary art, and design.
His notable commercial design works include the logo for Suntory Whisky "HIBIKI," the title design for the NHK historical drama "Shinsengumi!," the NHK television series "Asuka," and "Sakuya Konohana Kan" at the International Garden and Greenery Exposition in Osaka.
