Founded in September 1897, Ofuku Masamune Brewery was originally established as Kishi Goro Shoten by founder Goro Kishi at the foot of the Nagaoka Higashiyama mountain range—an area blessed with lush forests and pure, natural spring water.
The brand name “Ofuku Masamune” reflects Kishi’s heartfelt wish that “the more you drink, the more good fortune will come to both customers and brewers.”
For over 125 years, the brewery has carried on this proud tradition of sake-making, sparing no effort or expense, and pouring its passion into every step of the brewing process.
Today, this spirit is also expressed through Decorative Sake Barrels (Kazaridaru)—a symbol of celebration and Japanese culture.
